Thanks to all of the producers who attended the 2016/2017 AGMs this Fall! Director positions in Zones 1 & 4 are still open.
ALP directors and staff were happy to connect with everyone. Meetings were held this year in Rycroft, Camrose, and High River. New to the agenda this year was the facilitation of focus groups to allow producers to interact with each other and provide their perspectives to the Board. ALP continually strives to improve and the Board is looking forward to reviewing the producer ideas from the meetings.
Bill Gibson, outgoing Zone 4 Director, has completed the maximum of two, three-year terms. Including an earlier term, Bill has served for a total of 10 years on the ALP Board. We wish him a very happy “retirement”!
The new Zone 7 Director is Lianne Read. Lianne was appointed by the ALP Board in June 2017 and has run for election to start her first three-year term. Lianne lives in Silver Valley and has almost 24 years of experience in the sheep industry. She has experience in both meat and wool production, and she has a small value added business with the wool produced from her sheep.
