Purchases made under the Traceability Technology Adoption Program need to be made by Feb 28 and applications submitted by Mar 15.
Growing Forward 2 programs are all ending in March 2018. The new funding partnership, called the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) will begin in April 2018.
A popular program for lamb producers will not be continuing into CAP: the . This program provided lamb producers with the reimbursement of up to 70% approved costs for equipment and software that capture animal data for animal management and traceability purposes (RFID Software such as Farmworks, bioFlock, Ewe Byte, Select Sheepware, TRAX-IT Livestock Sheep Manager, and handheld RFID Readers).
Producers are encouraged to take advantage of this program while it is still funded. RFID Software and Readers must be purchased by February 28, 2018 and the application must be submitted to Growing Forward 2 by March 15, 2018. Reimbursement will be made subject to available funding. Since there is no pre-approval and the program operates as a reimbursement, it is recommended that producers phone the program administrator Myles Sosnowski at 780-427-7708 to confirm that there are funds remaining in this program before purchasing a product.
