Fall Round Up 2010

Provincial Grazing Reserves
Alberta Lamb Producers has been seeking access to Provincial Grazing Reserves for sheep through Agriculture & Rural Development Sustainable Resource Development. The only answer we have received is that producers should make this request through the individual grazing associations. We hear this is not proving successful so we are providing the opportunity for producers to complete and submit a form letter, as per the resolution in zone 2, November 2010.
Add your address to the top of the letter, the date and sign and print your name at the bottom. Please feel free to make any changes in the letter. Please send your letters to Alberta Lamb Producers by May 31st, 2011 we will send them altogether to the Minister of Agriculture if there is strong support.
This is one of those occasions that we need YOU to participate if you want access to community pastures. If there is little response from producers, we will understand that there is little demand and not pursue this further.
Opposition to Bill 43, Refundable check-off.
Resolutions in Zones 2 and 4 requested a form letter available that they could use to express their opposition to refundable check-off. Again, you are invited to use this letter, amend if necessary, to send to the Minister of Agriculture. Again, please add your address, the date and sign and print your name at the end. We would appreciate being advised that you have sent a letter, or you may send it to us for forwarding.
