Were you unable to attend the fall meetings? Katherine presented at the zone meetings this fall and the feedback from her presentation was excellent. This presentation gives an overview of traceability internationally and in Canada, the three pillars of traceability, and why it is important to producers. If you have ever wondered why you have to tag your sheep, what is a Premises ID (PID) and why you need it, or why you have to fill in your manifest, Katherine will give you the answer. She also outlines some government resources and programs that offer services and funding to producers.

Katherine is the Extension and Education Unit Manager of the Livestock Traceability Section in the Food Safety and Technology Division of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry.
